John B. Vairo, DMD
Dr. John Vairo has called Florida home for over 30 years. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He moved to Gainesville in the fall of 1992 to attend the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry and has been an avid Gator fan ever since! He received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree in May 1996 with honors, and began practicing dentistry in Gainesville that same year.
Dr. Vairo is committed to providing his patients with outstanding oral healthcare. He is a member of both the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Florida Dental Association (FDA). He is also a current member and former board member of the Alachua County Dental Association. Additionally, Dr. Vairo regularly attends continuing education classes, locally and statewide to keep up with the latest advances in dentistry.
Dr. Vairo and his wife, Tina, have been married 25 years and have three beautiful daughters. Their entire family is very active in the Gainesville community. The Vairos attend church at University City Church of Christ where they are very active with the young families. In his spare time, Dr. Vairo enjoys all Gator sporting events, exercising, cars and good food!
Ernesto Guerra, DDS
Dr. Ernesto Guerra was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He attended the School of Dentistry at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where he received his doctorate degree. In addition, Dr. Guerra completed a two year general practice residency program at the University of Puerto Rico’s medical science campus. While at the University of Puerto Rico, Dr. Guerra completed two years of research in association with the University of Indiana which compared decay detection methods in children below thirteen years of age.
Being part Gator, Dr. Guerra and his lovely wife Laura have called Gainesville home since 2013. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Florida Dental Association (FDA) and the Alachua County Dental Association. In his spare time Dr. Guerra enjoys traveling, as well as listening to and mixing new music as an avenue to explore different cultures. He enjoys helping others and has a profound respect for life.
Ellie Grosteffon, RDH
Ellie’s experience in the field of dentistry spans the last 27 years, 10 of which as a dental assistant and 17 as a hygienist. Her lengthy career is the result of wanting to help people feel better about themselves. According to Ellie, “If I can help them smile with confidence, I have accomplished that.”
When she is not in the office, Ellie enjoys spending time with her husband, taking photos, and spoiling her cats Thor, Gilbert Grape, and Baldr.
Ivette Cott, RDH
Ivette has worked in dentistry since 1992, helping patients with their smiles first in the Dominican Republic, and then the United States.
In addition to loving her work with the team at Santa Fe Family Dental, Ivette enjoys scrapbooking, painting, crafts, and spending time with her two daughters.
Kristina Ellison, RDH
Kristina has spent the last 17 years working in the field of dentistry, 12 of which were spent right here in Gainesville.
When asked about why she chose dentistry, she said, “I enjoy building relationships with my patients and team members, as well as providing patient education needed to have a healthy smile.”
Kristina spends her free time with her husband, three daughters, and three dogs. Whenever possible, she enjoys taking in the views from her mother’s front porch in the Tennessee Mountains.
Jeanie Arnold, RDH
Jeanie brings over four decades of experience to the Santa Fe Dental Family team, with 29 years of experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist.
Happily married for 24 years, Jeanie enjoys gardening and spending time with her three sons, two grandsons, and her granddaughter.
Jamie Little, RDH
Jamie has spent the last seven years helping her patients achieve a lifetime of excellent oral health.
A happily married family woman, Jamie’s free time is spent raising her baby boy. She also enjoys going to the beach, camping, and maintaining a healthy exercise regimen.
Jessica Nadler, AS, RDH
Jessica has spent the last six years helping patients build a lifetime of beautiful smiles.
Jessica has always found going to the dentist to be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. In fact, she continued by saying, “As I grew older, I became more interested in oral health and started asking more and more questions to my hygienist and dentist. I realized how much is involved in dentistry and how many people have negative dental experiences causing them fear. That is when I decided that I wanted to be a part of helping people have enjoyable dental experiences as I always have had which would allow them to take care of their dental needs.”
Jessica spends her free time with her husband, son, and nine-year-old cockapoo at the beach.
Ericka has spent the last 25 years working in dental care. She said, “It’s gratifying to help patients attain beautiful smiles, ease their fears, and gain their trust.”
Ericka is married with three children. Her family also has two rescue dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and taking photos with her Canon 60D, though she considers baking to be her favorite hobby. At Santa Fe Family Dental, she is famous for her chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies! Ericka also enjoys volunteering at her church’s welcome desk and helping with the children’s Bible study throughout the school year.
Jennifer (Jenny) Widerman
Jenny’s extensive background in the field of dentistry covers nearly three decades, and Gainesville has been her home for 15 of those years.
When asked why she chose to work in dental care, she said, “It chose me. All my friends had jobs and I needed one. I fell in love with building relationships with patients and their families. I love protecting smiles and restoring patients’ confidence in dentistry.”
Jenny’s free time is spent with her husband, two boys, and two dogs. They regularly attend Gator football games and try to travel whenever possible.
Heather has six years of experience in the dental field, with five of those focusing on pediatric care. Her positive attitude always brightens up the team!
Heather loves to spend her free time outside. Nature walks identifying plants, birds, and bugs, boat rides on the Suwannee River, or BBQs with her family – she enjoys being in nature.
Lanaie Reed, EDA
Lanaie’s career in dental care spans twenty years, 14 of which as a dental assistant and seven being in office management. She began her career as a student at Florida Community College in Jacksonville. Lanaie said, “I enjoyed working everyday. I never looked back.”
Lanaie is happily married with two boys, one girl, one daughter-in-law, two poodles, and one grandson. In her spare time, Lanaie enjoys the outdoors with her loving family and friends, camping, visiting State/National Parks, and visiting Walt Disney World.
Yolonda’s smiling face will be one of the first you see when you come in for your appointment. When she’s not helping out our patients, Yolonda enjoys reading, travel; she’s involved heavily at her church in choir, benevolence, and in the children’s ministry.
Sandi has 18 years of experience in the field of dentistry, 15 of which were spent specializing in pediatric care. She has so far spent four years in Gainesville.
Denise has over 20 years of experience in the field of dentistry, and is the Treatment Coordinator for our team. Denise is happily married with four children and two grandchildren, and enjoys camping in her free time.
